Abrasive Sanding Float for Plaster

The float that carries the abrasive. A 3mm rubber pad backs the mesh so it follows the wall instead of skating across it, and the wing bolts let you change a sheet in seconds without tools.

The rubber backing matters more than it sounds. A rigid block rides the high spots and rounds off the corners of a wall; the pad spreads pressure so the float cuts flat and reaches into a shallow dip rather than bridging it.

Takes either abrasive mesh or ordinary abrasive paper cut to size. Mesh is the better choice on gypsum because the dust falls through rather than clogging the sheet.

The shaped handle is worth noting if you are sanding a whole room. Finishing a three bed house is hours of work above shoulder height, and a float that sits badly in the hand is felt the next morning.
